Salvador Parra

I’m a self-taught filmmaker, although I owe a lot to Performance and to great Mexican and international movie technicians and experts. My background also includes the Fine Arts and my studies at La Esmeralda National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving.

My path in Production Design has led me to participate in projects in Europe, United States and South America, which have been very gratifying technically speaking. Several of them have won prizes and awards in film festivals and other events. 

I have given classes in postgraduate programs and workshops on Production Design at the São Paulo Film Library, University of Antioquia in Colombia and México’s two main movie schools: CUEC (University Center of Film Studies) of the UNAM and CCC (Film Training Center).

From my point of view, Production Design is based on details, which should reflect a minimum of art and a maximum of emotion: I have found this somewhat schizophrenic struggle extremely stimulating in my life.
